Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort in Casa Grande, Az 7-18 to 8-1-2016

Monday is the day we arrive in Casa Grande, Az, it is a nice size town.  Lots of places in this town much bigger than Benson, Az.  This park is beautiful and HUGE.  I thought it was hot in Benson,  hehe, it is even hotter here.  Every day has been over 100 more around 107.  In a couple days Friday and Saturday the high is 112.  There is no way, I like getting out in this heat.  YIKES!!!!!  Our spot is right across from the pool, laundry and dog run.  Good spot.  Hey, the dog run has GRASS, without cockleburs.  That is a blessing.  Daisy can get in there off least and just explore.  It is really nice and so close to our space.  They have a FRY grocery store here and I had never been in one before and it is so nice.  I love to check out new grocery stores.

I have taken some pictures that I will post now and will take more to post later.

This is a happy me since we are at our destination.  Woohoo...
Here is Ranger Bob taking us to our spot.  There are 2000ish spots here an our is 1364.  The sites are big and lots of room for the patio furniture but it is way too hot to set outside
These statues are cool.  There is a mason jar on the bench.  I have to find out what they represent...
These statues are around one of the ponds
these buildings have spaces for the different activities that go on in the park.

just more spaces for the activities.

   dog run

hot tub

beautiful pool

rest rooms laundry and showers

lots of washers and dryers...

Butterfield RV Resort July 10 thru July 18, 2016

When we were staying at Butterfield RV Resort we took a day trip to Tombstone an Bisbee, Az.  While we were at Tombstone we stopped at the site of the OK Corral Battleground.  It was pretty cool.  It is a graveyard made up of people that died living in Tombstone.  They had daily gunfights in Tombstone, that was where the West's legendary gunbattle began.  Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp had their  famous gunfight here.  They had stagecoach rides that went around the town.  The courtyard in the middle of the town is historical.  Pretty cool place, but it was so HOT temp was 107 and I just couldn't make myself get out of the cool car and walk around the town.  Wish it ha been cooler.  Here are some cool pics

Checking out the Observatory

Today was a lazy day.  Spent lots of time on the computer checking out ideas for new bracelets.  Got my jewelry out and organized it better.  Spent way to much time on Pinterest checking out cool bracelets.  Want to figure out how to use Etsy so I can sell my cards and jewelry on line.

Since we got the time figured out finally, we were able to go to the observatory.  It is right here in the park.  I have never been to one before and it was so cool.  We checked out the sky for 2 hours and it just makes you realize how HUGE the sky is.  It just blows my mind how many stars and planets are out there and how far they are away and how long it would take to get to them---if we even could.  I loved looking at Saturn, it was awesome.  Here is a picture of the Observatory

Here we are making the tire covers---ok maybe it was Ron, but I had to help and take the pictures.  There it is on the tires.  We used heavy duty velcro to attach them.

They advise us to always have a flashlight with us when we are out at night time, because of the rattlesnakes.  OH YIKES!!!

They keep talking about the monsoon, well I sure wish we could get a little rain.  It is so hot.  High today was 105 I think.  way too hot.

Butterfield RV Resort & Observatory

Sunday July 10, 2016

Today we started down the road from Van Horn, Tx.  We were going to stay in Deming New Mexico, but we got such an early start and decided to bypass Deming and go straight to Benson, Az.   We had already decided to stay a week so we just added a day on to it.  It is a very nice park and tonight we will go to the observatory and check out the stars.  That will be cool.  The temp was 102 when we pulled in and it is HOT...Went to Safeway and Walmart and bought groceries because our food source was bare.  Fixing chicken pot pie for dinner.  That will be yummy.  Here are so pics of the park

Tonight, I will miss Big Brother so I can go to the Observatory.  That will be cool...
Will write more later, dinner is now ready and I am hungry.  Talk to you later.  Thanks for checking out my blog...

LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN

We finally got out of our house on June 30th at around 7 pm.  Had a lot of things still left and had to just put in the motorhome to deal with later.  Drove the miles to Porter at the Crossroads RV Park.  It is across the street from the Peach House and we always stayed here when we were in town.    Got the motorhome all set up and we had to sleep in our recliners because there was too much crap to even sleep on our bed.  How can we accumulate so much stuff in just 2 short years.  Who knows.

The fridge didn't work so we had to take all our food to Leslie's house and store them in her fridge...Since it is the 4th of July weekend we were unable to have someone come fix it before Tuesday.  Sheesh...We had to eat breakfast and dinner out every day.  Believe it or not that sure does get old fast.

We decided to get a storage room so we were able to get our things boxed up and taken to storage.  YES.  We wanted to have just as little as we could get away with.  Every day we found other items we could take.

I said I would show pictures of our motorhome after I got it all fixed up the way we wanted it.  I have a few here I will share with you.  We are so pleased with the way everything has turned out.  It is just the way we want it.

Daisy is getting her fill of the news for the day.  hehe
I am so proud of this desk that Ron and Jody built.  They took out the dining room table and made this.  We can set down and look at our computers or eat a meal and I can even do my scrapbook and make my cards and jewelry here.   It is perfect for us.  Love it
There is the backsplash we put up and the other counter that Ron & Jody made.  It is gorgeous.  It has the drop down I can put up when I need more room.
close up picture of the backsplash and new counter we did.
took down the headboard and found this vinyl I love.  Made the curtains and I had more pillows on the bed but I decided to store them since it is such a hassle to put them away when it is bedtime.  Still love it.
This is the spot where I am going to put all my family's picture on.
Perfect pillow because I always tell Ronnie "love you more" when he tells me me loves me.
more curtains I made for the bedroom...
just a picture taken down the hall from the bedroom to the front.

Finally got our fridge fixed Tuesday afternoon, they had to reset it at the mother board.  It was an easy fix, and that made us happy.  Wednesday we finished our running around doing last minute business.  Ron went to Jody's to tell him bye and then we went to Leslie's house to get our food and give them goodbye kisses and hugs.  Will miss our kiddos and grandkiddos so much.  love you guys.

Thursday morning we got up and got started down the road.  Stopped in Muskogee at the QT to get a couple breakfast sandwiches to eat on the road.  We drove about 5 hours to Thackerville, Ok and stayed at the Red River RV Park,  Went to Windsteam Casino and had a great dinner at the buffet there.  Came back home and went to bed early.  It is always a long day the first day we travel.

Got up early Friday morning and went down the road.  This was a long day of driving.  We drove about 7 hours and stopped in Big Springs, Tx at a small rv park called Whip it in...It was fine for the night as it had cable and good WIFI.  There were terrible storms this night.  Lightening, thunder and high winds.     Tonight was the first night I had a chance to fix dinner.  It was nice for a change, as we had been eating out all the time.   Forgot to take a picture of our site.  bummer

Got up Saturday morning and had a good breakfast at home.  Ron fixed bacon, scrambled eggs and hash browns.  Yummn.  Took a shower and then started down the road to our next destination-Van Horn, Tx...I know, I know you say "who the heck stays at Van Horn, Tx'...It is so hot here and there is NOTHING here.  Restaurants and grocery stores not a selection.    We were able to get a spot at Southern Star RV Park, it is nice....has cable and good wifi so we can handle it for the night.   Tonight we at at Chuey's the only place to eat, not much of a choice.  hehe

This is our spot at Southern Star RV Park in Van Horn, Tx

Well, this is all I will write today.  Tomorrow, we travel down the road to Deming New Mexico.

So you don't forget what we look like, thought I would post a picture of us driving down the road.  Really there was no one around us when I took this picture.  lol.
