CAMPGROUNDS OF THE SOUTH 9/17/16 to 9/24/16

We left Marksville, La at 8:25 and drove to Gulfport, Ms. We decided to stay at the Campgrounds of the South.  We had WIFI and cable so it was a good place to stay.  Ron didn't like it at all because they needed to mow but it had been so wet, they were unable to mow.  It drove him crazy that the grass was higher than what he liked.  lol   Here is a picture of the park and the beautiful sunset.  We were here for a week...

Check out this awesome bridge we went across in Ventress, La.  it was absolutely awesome

It is called the John James Adubon Bridge.  it is awesome

One of the best places we love to go when we stay here is Cajun Chicken.  They have the BEST fried chicken in the world.  It is a buffet and they have all kinds of awesome foods.  We were able to visit it a couple times before we left the area...

CROSSROADS RV PARK IN PORTER, OK 8-28-16

We got up early again and left Santa Rosa, NM around 6:45.  Drove all day to finally arrive in Porter, Ok.  We were excited to spend time with the kids and grandkids.  Always a wonderful visit.  Got set up and drove to Leslie's house to surprise them and watch Big Brother.  It was a nice visit.  Didn't stay long as we were very tired.

Saw 2 real bad wrecks, one in OKC and 3 card involved and 1 of them had flipped the center medium and was on the other side.  The second wreck was near Henryetta, Ok and an 18 wheeler had slid off the road (construction area) only 1 lane and was smashed up in a ravine.  It is always scary when you see these wrecks and you are traveling long distance.  We were so glad to get settled.  Here is a picture of where we stayed at Crossroads.  It is our home away from home when we come to Oklahoma...We stayed for 2 weeks and then we started our way to Florida.  woohoo.  Just wish I could take my family with us so we wouldn't miss them so much

SANTA ROSA CAMPGROUND IN SANTA ROSA, NM 8-27-16

Left Williams early and drove to Santa Rosa, NM.  We got a pull through and didn't even unhook.  Luckily they had a restaurant at the park so that was where we ate.  Just spent the night, we were in a hurry to get to Oklahoma so we could see the family.  Here are pics of where we stayed.
entering into New Mexico in the rain.
the sunset was beautiful---had to take a pic
                                                              our site in the park
                                                                  beautiful sunset
they told us to stay alert because they had spotted snake so be sure to stay out of the grass.  LOL  OK

GRAND CANYON RAILROAD RV PARK IN WILLIAMS, AZ 8-25-16

Was so glad to get here so the temp would not be so hot.  I just wanted double digit temp...We were here for only 3 days.  Long enough to take the Train up to the Grand Canyon.  It was a wonderful trip.  Here is some pictures of our park and downtown Williams.  Wonderful Route 66 area.

this was the restaurant we ate at in Downtown Williams on Route 66
It rained real hard while we were eating and stopped in time to walk down the street & visit shops
                                                                     the cutest cafe...
this was fun getting my picture take with the KING
                                                                Historic Route 66...
Ronnie trying on a Daniel Boone hat...He is so cute

Some how or another I can't find the picture of our space in the park here.  it is a real nice park...On the 26th we took the train up to the Grandy Canyon.  It was a great trip on the train and what can I say about the GRAND CANYON  it is for sure one of the 7 Wonders of the World.  It is breathtaking...Here are pics of the train ride.  fun
before we boarded the train, they had a gunfight and it was cute.

he was telling us all about the railroad
they were out to rob us...

They had cowboys and the marshal putting on a show.  It was fun, and made the 90 minute train ride enjoyable.

had to take this picture so it would show the steam engine working up the mountain

Now to show pictures of one of the Seven Wonders of the World pictures.
