I HAVEN'T POSTED IN A WEEK...

Oh my, I have not posted in a week so I am really behind.  I would much rather post every day or so and not wait so long.

March 20th we left Lake Havasu.  I drove Bill and Jeanne's car back to Hemet with Jeanne.  Ron brought the motorhome and Daisy and Bill came back with sophie with his travel trailer.  We  all went to Mimi's for dinner and had a wonderful dinner.  We love Bill and Jeanne, they are such awesome people and we are glad to be close to them again.  After dinner, Ron and I drove back to Cathedral City in the Palm Springs area.  This is where we are staying for a week.  It is Cathedral Palms RV.  Here are some pictures of the park.  Our space number is 113, right across from the pool.

wow, the color of the motorhome looks weird.  must be the sun hitting it.

some mornings when we walk daisy there is a duck swimming in the pool.

First full day in Lake Havasu

Our first full beautiful day in our new home for a while.  Again I woke up early it was around 3:30, it is just getting crazy that I can't sleep late.  When will I get use to the time change?????   Had a yummy breakfast made better by Ron fixing it.  I love it when he fixes breakfast.

Today Ron and I, Jeanne and Bill, and Joy and Willis are going somewhere close to Bullhead City for dinner.  They have prime rib dinner 2 for the price of one.  What we wont do to save money.  hehe  I think Bullhead City is like 60 miles away.  lol  The place was Avia Resort and Casino.  They had a wonderful buffet and we had a nice dinner with good friends.

We came back and were very tired so we just hung around the home.  I haven't been sleeping very well so when it got to be 8:30 I could not stay awake any longer so I went to bed.

Good night will post again tomorrow...

3/15/13 Leaving Vegas again

Well, we got up and had breakfast in the hotel about 7:30 hoping to get an early start.  We sure are positive people.  hehe  Then came back to the room to wait for the call to come get the motor home.  I had gotten up early (as usual) about 3:30ish so I laid back down and fell asleep.  I woke up about 10:30 and found out no call yet.  bummer.  We were getting worried because we had to be out of the room by 12.  Finally about 11 they called and said the motorhome was ready

We got the motorhome, loaded it up, hooked up and got started on our way.  Whewwwwwww that is such a good feeling to get down the road.  We have friends were were meeting the day before and we were scheduled to have had dinner with them but missed out on having dinner with old friends and making new friends.  BUMMER...

Here is a cool picture of the Colorado River-as we leave California coming into Arizona.  It was so pretty...

We got into Lake Havasu finally.  Yeah  It was a pretty site when you can first see the lake.  I wish I had my camera out, I think I could have gotten a better picture of the view.  Here is a picture of it as it comes into view.

It probably has been 14 years since we were last here and it has grown so much since then. It is a nice town. We pulled into the Lake Havasu  RV Resort about 2:30 Woohoo finally we are here. Here are some pictures of the park and our spot.

dang, you cant see the pretty flowers in bloom out in the desert.  This was where we could take Daisy for her walk.  It is really pretty for the desert.

my new patio rug.  it is reversable.  love it.  Need to put out the patio cover...

We got all set up and went across the street where Bill and Jeanne are parked.  It was wonderful seeing them.  Jeanne fixed dinner for us and we just enjoyed their company.  Came back to our house about 8:30 and just got comfy.  I love this life, it is awesome.   Miss you and wish you were here.

3/14/13 ALMOST GOT OUT OF VEGAS

Well, this day we tried to leave Vegas but fate stopped us cold.  We were almost in Henderson when a belt broke on the motorhome.  Power steering was gone.  bummer.  After pulling off Bolder Highway, Ron drove the car to Camping World and they gave him the name of a repair shop that was only a mile away from where we were pulled over.  Had the motorhome towed to the shop and we sure hoped they would be able to fix it fast.  Haha that didn't happen, a part was delivered, but it was the wrong one and by the time it was delivered to the shop and picked back up again it was late.  Wouldn't be ready until the next day.  Well dirty word...We started looking for a place to stay that would allow a dog, and the first place we stopped at we got a room.  It was the Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham and it was a nice room.

We had dinner this evening at this fun pub called Johnny Macs.  Here is a sign that was painted on the wall.

Here is a picture of my dinner, it was a yummy chicken sandwich.  The bread it was on was so good, I should not have eaten it because of my diabetes, but I just had to.  It was heaven and I enjoyed every bite of it.  I was good because I didn't get fries ---I got a wonderful dinner salad to go with it.  That was a good trade off wasn't it???????

We were so tired because of the stress of worrying about the motorhome and then where we were going to spend the night that we went to bed early.

More tomorrow about our journey.

OUR LAST DAY IN VEGAS

Well today is the last day here in Vegas, I really hate to go but we are looking forward to going somewhere else.  There are so many places for us to explore that moving on is bitter sweet.  The big thing is we get to meet up with our friends Bill and Jeanne, we haven't seen them in a long time and really miss them.  Love you guys.

I don't know if it is the time change or not but I can't sleep past 5 am.  It is dark outside at that time.  lol  really, hopefully it will change here pretty soon.  Ron and Daisy sleep till 7 or 7:30.  I am so jealous.

This will be a short post so I can get things ready to leave.  I will post again when we get to Lake Havasue.

I believe I have forgotten to post a pic of me and edward I made when we first got here and I surely don't want you all to miss seeing him at this park..  I will take one of him as soon as we get set up in Lake Havasue...

Edward in Las Vegas,  I sure wish he would smile..

WEDNESDAY 3/13/13

Today is another beautiful day in paradise, aka Las Vegas.  81 degrees and it was so nice.  Actually had to finally turn the air conditioner on in the motor home it was hot in here, even with the floor fans.  When the sun goes down, it cools down though, so that is nice.

Getting things ready to leave tomorrow.  Kinda sad, we really like this park.  Ron wants to come back here in the winter time, but I am thinking I want to go to Goodyear, Az which is near Phoenix.  It looks like it will be a really nice park and there are so many place to see, I hate to go to someplace twice.

We had to go back and eat at the Sweet Tomato, it is so dang good.  here is a pic of my dinner.  Well, ok, my start, you know it is all you can eat.  I was good though didn't eat too much.

Here is Daisy's fraidy hole, Ron bribed her to come out with one of her treats.  She loves it up there...That is where she stays when we travel.  Right up under my feet, I cant put them on the floor, they have to be up on the dash.  My feet...lol

Well heck we didn't go swimming today, I sure wanted to go...didn't get a nap...where did the day go...I love being retired, it is just the way to go.

Got more things purged and rearranged in the coach today, it is sure looking good.  I need to get rid of lots of shirts as I have way to many...I can't see where I need more than 10, do you??????  I can only wear one at a time and they are just taking up room in my closet.

Found out today about the hotspot on my iphone.  Didn't know about it.  The other day we bought a hot spot from Verizon at best buy.  Well finding out about my phone saves me $30 a month and $49 for the hotspot unit, plus I had to sign a 2 year contract with Verizon.  I don't have to sign a contract with at&t,  I am a happy camper.  AT &T changed my data plan and now we can set up our laptops and my kindle using my phone hotspot.  Yeah for saving money.

Well, I guess I had better publish this so I can lay back in my recliner and maybe take a nap.  What you say, it is almost 8pm.  So I can take a nap, I am RETIRED.  hehe  I love this retirement thingy.  Wish you were here, miss you

living the retirement....

3/12/13

This was a busy day.  I ventured out by myself to go to my Weight Watchers class.  I found it and didn't get lost.  That for me, was a big deal.  Poor Ron was so afraid I would get lost and never find my way back to the coach again, but I fooled his butt...hehe  I hadn't been to a class in a month and I was happy that I didn't gain anything.  I was concerned since we have eaten out so much, but even though I haven't gone, I still have been eating good because of my diabetes.  I was doing so good before we sold the house, as I was walking at least 3 miles a day and some days 4 miles.  I have to get back in the habit of walking each day because it helps so much on my weight loss regiment.  I walked on the treadmill in the weight room today while I did my laundry.  I walked almost a mile and a half, not bad for my first day of getting back to it.

Got the laundry done and that was a big deal.  I have a washing machine in the coach but it is small and I really don't want to do a small load every day, it is just as easy to wait a week and go to the laundry mat in the park and get it all done at once.  It is so nice and clean there.  Plus it gives me a chance to get some exercise done while I do it.

Had to go to Walmart again and buy a few more groceries.  I am loving eat all my fruits and veggies.  Yummy...  After shopping we took a drive and went to some of the other RV parks around ours, I think ours is the best.  It is cleaner and just more taken care of.  I think I can be kinda a snob about where we stay, but that is OK -- it is our house and I want to feel good about where we park it.  lol  Not everyone can say that...hehe

Ron talked to Direct TV today about when we can start getting some local channels.  We haven't had any CBS NBC FOX or ABC since we have been here.  No local news, talk about being out of the loop.  We wanted to start receiving the west coast feed and we sent in our papers, but they told us because of where we have our motor home registered we can only receive the East coast feed.  They are saying when we are on the west coast we will get the east coast feed.  Crazy, why would I want the local info there and not in my backyard.  So frustrating.  We have to wait 10 days for the feed to start after they receive the papers we sent in.  That means we still have to wait until the 22nd.  I would bet all they have to do is flip a switch and it will happen.  They are driving us crazy.  You talk to someone and they give you different info as to what someone else has to say...

We are getting things situated in the motor home.  Moving things around and still purging things we don't want or need.  Getting a box of goodies ready to take to the office.  The lady said she would take them to her church for distribution to who might need them.  That makes me happy.  I am even giving up my little Christmas tree,  We decided we would just get a small one and some ornies for it each year and then give it away so we don't have to store it.  That works...

It is starting to get hot here - it is in the high 80's.  I checked the temp for Lake Havasue, AZ where we are going Thursday and it is going to be in the 90's while we are there.  whewwwwwwwww

Well I guess I will go for now...talk to you later.  miss you and wish you were here with us...

I LOVE VEGAS...

Today was a busy day.  We took Daisy to the beauty shop, boy did she needs it and she looks so pretty.  Check her out...

While she was at the beauty shop Ron and I went to Sprouts Market.  Oh wow, it is an awesome grocery store.  There is one being built in Bixby, Ok and it is to be opened this summer so check it out because it is a wonderful store.  The produce was beautiful and the meat market was great.  I got a couple chicken breasts, one was stuffed with broccoli and cheese and the other was stuffed with feta cheese and spinach.  We split the broccoli one tonight.  It was soooooooooo good.   I bought squash, zucchini red yellow and green bell peppers and sauteed them with onion and a can of rotel.  Oh my goodness it was to die for.  I had it all ready to take a picture of so I could show you, and I was so hungry that I forgot to get my camera and snap the picture.  I remembered it when I was almost finished eating it.  I will take a picture of the other one.  It was only $4 for that big breast that fed us both.  I got a cantaloupe and I have been wanting one for so long and the ones we would get in BA just wasn't good.  I tasted this one and it is so yummy.   It will be part of my breakfast in the morning.

Ron and I really like this park, it may be the place we come back to this winter to stay.  If we do, we will try to work here in the park.  I will try to convince Ron he needs to work---not me  hehe...

We will be leaving here Thursday morning to go to Lake Havasue to spend time with our super good friends-Bill and Jeanne Snyder.  We can't wait to see them it has been too long since we last saw them.

Well, I guess I will go now and publish this.  Love this retirement life, it is just wonderful.  Trust me,  no worry-be happy.

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY IN VEGAS

Oh what a beautiful day it was today.  The temp was around 66 degrees and the wind was calm.  Loved it.  Gave Ron a haircut and brushed Daisy.  Two big chores...One has a lot and the other has a little.  hehe  I will let you guess who has the least amount of hair.  I will give you a hint, it isn't Daisy...Here are a couple pics for you to decide.
DAISY

RON

Tonight, we are having meatloaf cupcakes.  The picture I ran across, they are so cute.  I am fixing the meatloaf in  muffin pans and I will fix some mashed potatoes to put on top of them like icing.  I will take a picture of them and post them before we eat.  I am going to start making my mashed potatoes with cauliflower as that would be much better for my diabetes.   I would also like to pick up a piping bag and tip so I could pipe them and make them look like icing.

THE ONES I SAW

THE ONES I MADE I FOUND THE RECIPE ON THE KRAFT WEBSITE.  IT USES CORNBREAD STUFFING AND IT IS VERY GOOD.  PICTURE WILL FOLLOW AFTER IT COMES OUT OF THE OVEN.  YUMMY, IT SMELLS GOOD,  WISH I HAD SMELLAVISION ON MY COMPUTER.

 MY MEATLOAF CUPCAKES.

They would have looked a lot more like a cupcake if only I had the piping bag and tip.  I think I need to get them next time I am at the store.  It was good though.

Well, I must go now so I can watch the walking dead.  My fav show, I love it...

till tomorrow

RUNNING AROUND VEGAS

I am so excited.  Today we found a Best Buy and I was able to buy a Verizon WiFi.  Now I don't have to be so frustrated with the crazy park wifi.  We have our own no matter where we go.  We have it on our laptops, my Kindel and our phones.  Woohoo.............................It is fast and awesome.   Now I can do my blog every day and not want to cry.

Yesterday it was rainy and windy all day long.  We didn't get out to go anywhere.  Today it is sunny and beautiful.  We left early this morning and stopped at Dennys for breakfast and then went to Bed Bath and Beyond.  Love looking at this store, didn't buy anything though.  Want to get a Mr Tea Maker when I run across my coupons.  Being retired and all I have to save money whenever I can.  hehe...  Then we went to Best Buy and bought my wifi  Verizon Jetpack.

We drove down the strip today and I cannot believe how much it has changed.  Of course it has been a hundred years since we were here last.  Here are a couple pics I took

We left the strip and went over to Henderson to eat lunch at the  Sweet Tomatoes.  It was yummy, we loved to eat at the Souplantation in Temecula, Ca so we really enjoyed the food here.  We also went to Camper World  in Vegas and I got the cugtest flag.  Check it out.

Was going to put it outside where we are parked now, but they must have concrete under the gravel because there was no sticking my flagpole in the ground.

Well, that is all I have to say now,  till next time.

THURSDAY - A NEW DAY

Today is another beautiful day in Vegas.  Have I told you we love this place.  We thought it was raining early this morning, but when we got out of bed there was no evidence outside of it having rained.  It was weird.

Today is the first time I used my washing machine.  You sure can't wash a lot at one time, but it is really nice to be able to do a load and not have to go to the laundry mat for everything.  I will go do jeans and towels cause they are bulky but everything else I can do here.  sweet...........

Thought I would share my breakfast with you this morning, wish you were here.  Grits, toast, fruit and milk.

Well, again this wifi here in this park sucks.  It is terrible.  I want to post pictures but I can't maybe I can post some tomorrow.

I might as well give up on trying to update my blog because I just can't get a connection.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

MY EDWARD

When I  retired from Northeastern State University in December, my coworkers had a going away party for me.  I LOVE the Twilight series a lot and I was definitely team Edward so the theme for my party was Twilight.  It was so cool.  I sure miss those ladies...One of the props they had was a full Edward cardboard figure.  It is so cool.  I took him with us and everyplace we go, I take a picture of me with him and I want to make a scrapbook of all his picture so I can show it to the girls I worked with next time I am in Broken Arrow.  This is his blog and I will keep these pictures here.  I know I am weird but that is OK...This is the beginning of his blog up to this time...enjoy
this is the cake, napkins and plates they had at the party.  cool

This is the cutout of Edward that is on our journey with us.   I was so happy about my Edward theme at my retirement party it was perfect

This is my Anna, they had fang teeth for us to play with.  It was crazy.  I miss you Anna

We spent our first night at a walmart parking lot in Broken Arrow, Ok and I had to take a picture of Edward in the motorhome.

Here is Edward at Bears Den in Grove, Ok at Grand Lake.  He was here during the Bassmaster Weekend.  He really enjoyed his two weeks here.

Here we are at Double D RV Park in Texola, Ok.   We were her for the night getting up early in the morning to head out to Albuquerque.    We had dinner at the Windmill Restaurant there in the park.  Good food.  People were very nice.  No one asked for my autograph.  Guess the town is just to small to have heard of my movies.

Here is where we stayed in Albuquerque, it was very nice.  Like this town, I will come back here to visit longer later

LAZY VEGAS DAY 2

What a beautiful day already. I could really get use to living here. The wind is blowing and the temperature is perfect. The windows are open and it is so nice. We just got finished with breakfast and now it is time for a nap. hehe  Breakfast was so good, I had to take a copy of it so I could share it with you.  Not the breakfast but the pic.  If you had been here I would have fixed it for you also.  lol

This has been a wonderful day.  Looking forward to the next one here.  We love this park, could stay here for a long time.  Living the life...

This date should be the 6th, I just had a really hard time getting it to post yesterday and couldn't figure out how to change the date on this post.  I hate the wifi we have in this park.

LAZY DAY IN VEGAS

Today is going to be a lazy day. We got up and had coffee and it was nice. We have been eating out so much. It is so nice to be able to have coffee and breakfast in the coach---especially when Ron fixes breakfast. I like that a lot.

We are going to the store for groceries. I saw a Smith’s and I want to shop there because I hope they have a good produce department as I want some fruit.  Well, we didn't make it to Smith's only went to Walmart.  That store was busy.

It is supposed to be in the 70’s today -- nice enough to go swimming. There is a heated pool and I was talking to a couple that was at the pool yesterday and they said it was wonderful. This little girl needs some sun, maybe get a little color and I don’t mean a sunburn. That reminds me, put suntan lotion on my grocery list. Lol Forgot the lotion but I do want to go swimming tomorrow.

Also, they have a nice exercise room so I have to go walk on the treadmill. A little swimming, a little walking does a body good--right.

Going to Camping World today to buy a big rug to put on the patio as it is gravel and not pavement. Then we can put out the chairs and stake a place for Daisy to lay outside when we are sitting out there. She hasn’t seen much grass since we left Oklahoma. Hey maybe we can find some fake indoor/outdoor carpeting that is green and looks like grass. We could put that outside next to our new rug I want and we both would be happy. lol    Didn't make it to Camping World, maybe tomorrow Murph will feel better and we can go then.

Ron is feeling puny, good thing he got a flu shot or he would really be sick. He has a sore throat, hey maybe he needs a hot toddy or a mudslide or a bourbon and coke. Surely those would help, right??????? I sure hope he feels better soon as I have a lot of things I would like for him to do. Hehe I am really liking this retirement stuff, it is a good thing.

Well, we went to the grocery store prices were not that bad. There is  no tax, that is great. Got back home, made murph go to bed so he can feel better.  Had chicken and noodles for dinner--so good
Life is great…

Las Vegas Bound

Today is the day we get to Vegas and we are ready to get there.  We are going to the Hotel for breakfast and then we will get started.  It was about 9 am when we got down the road.  Breakfast was so good just as good as dinner was last night.  This hotel is very nice and it is busy with people taking the train ride.  We really liked this park and if you ever get a chance to stay here do so--it is nice.  It is the Grand canyon RV Resort.

We will stop at Kingman to get gas for the motor home.  Why does it always take so much time to get some where when you are excited about getting there.  lol  The scenery is not the most beautiful, to me anyway, Ron thinks the desert is pretty.  Whewwwww  Williams is 7000 ft elevation.  We have sleep number beds and because of the elevation our beds were so hard.  I keep mine at 65 and when we got to Vegas they were at 100.  Then after we were here a while they dropped to 05.  hehe

Here is a picture of the drive coming into Kingman from Williams  This elevation was 4000 ft and
we flew down the hill.  I had to close my eyes a couple of times.  Plus my ears were popping like crazy.  The temp was nice it was like 54.

We finally made it into Kingman and got gas, not me, the motor home.  hehe  Here we got it for $3.39 which was much better than the $4.29 for unleaded in Williams.  Vegas is only a couple hours away.  Cannot wait to get there.  Here is a pic of Hoover Dam, one of the most awesome places to visit.  Many years ago we took a tour of the dam and how it was made it is fascinating how it was done at the time it was done.  Amazing.  They have built a new highway that now bypasses it but I was able to catch a pretty good pic of it.  If you ever get a chance to see it you really should.  It is awesome

Hoover Dam
Then we come into Boulder City and it has gotten so big.  It has been a long time since we were here before, but this area has really grown up.  We are like 21 miles away, I am getting excited.  cant wait to get there.

Here is our space in the Las Vegas RV Resort.  This is a super nice park.   There is a dog park that I can take Daisy to and let her off her leash.  She loved it, too bad it didn't have grass, just gravel.  Daisy kept saying where is the grass...

.

After we got the coach all set up we got ready and went to Sams Town for lunch.  We ate at the buffet and they had anything and everything you would want.  It was so good.  After we ate, we walked around the casino  there is an atrium in the middle that is beautiful.  It has several restaurants and flowers and there is a water show that is awesome.  The said the atrium lights up at night and so we will check it out to see how pretty it is.  Here are some pics we took inside the casino.

.

Well, this entry today was forever in the makings.  Something was wrong with the website and my Internet at this park is crazy.  I am going to call this a night, it has been at 4 hours working on this.  I was almost finished with it and it just poof went away completely,  Had to redo everything.  So frustrating.  But it is ok, it is good it is finished and you can check it out.  Tomorrow is another day and I will talk to you then.

This is the life...  enjoy

LIVING THE RETIREMENT

Ron, Daisy and I started our full timing on Feb 14, we spent 14 days in Grove, Ok on Grand Lake.  It was cold and snowy, but we were retired and ready to get started.  We ate at The Lazy Parrot on Grand Lake and Jake the parrot was there and talked all the time.  Dinner was wonderful we had coconut shrimp and steak with baked potato and salad.  So good-got to watch the sun go down over the Lake it was a nice date night.  We ate at a Mexican restaurant called La Casita De Martin in Grove that had the best tacos.  It was all you could eat taco night and they make their own taco shells with corn and deep fry them in canola oil.  Oh my they were sooooo good.  I ate 3 and got 2 others and just ate the insides.  Dang they were the best.

On Thursday Feb 28 we left Grove and went to Tulsa to get the windows on the car tinted and to meet TJ to sign over the papers on the Mercury.  Had dinner with Leslie and told her good bye.  We took the motor home to Deans RV and hooked up there.  They were going to fix a couple things for us first thing Friday morning.  Friday morning got all our things done and left Tulsa.

Drove Friday and stayed the night at the Double D RV Park in Texola, Ok. Our space was $14 with passport america.  We ate at the restaurant there at the park and our dinner was $24.   We got up early Saturday morning and had breakfast as Mitchells Family Dining in Shamrock Tx.  Terrible service so slow and they had smoking in this restaurant.  Wont eat there again.  Drove to Albuquerque and spent Saturday night at the Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post.  It was a nice park cost us about $18 passport america.  We ate at Cracker Barrell came back to the park and slept like babies.  We got up Sunday morning and got ready to go.  Went into Albuquerque and had breakfast at Denney's on Coors Blvd.  It was the BEST service and food we really enjoyed it.
Here is where we stayed in Albuquerque

Left Albuquerque and headed for Williams, Az.  When we got here we checked in the Grand Canyon Railway RV Park.  It is a very nice park.  The cost for our space was $20is dollars with passport america.  We ate dinner at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel they had a buffet and it cost $40, but it was worth it.  Will go there in the morning for breakfast buffet.  The temp was low 60's when we got here.  Nice weather and no snow.  yeah...

Daisy seems to be getting a little more use to living in the motor home.  Ever once in a while she will come out from in front of the driver and passenger chairs, that is where she likes to be...She loves to go outside.  hopefully when we get to Vegas we can let her stay outside with us when we are setting on the patio.

Here is where we stayed in Williams...

Well I have my blog started and kinda brought you up to date on our travel so far.  Starting tomorrow I can do a daily journal and posts pictures.  Thanks for listening to my rambling.
